As a freshman (2008): Integral part of the FAU pitching staff as a true freshman... Terrific in his first six appearances as a reliever and eventually was promoted to a weekend starting position... 58 K's in 62 innings... Retired ten consecutive batters in just his third collegiate outing, allowing FAU its sixth straight win- a 4-0 victory over Boston College (3/4)... Five days later, closed out FAU's first Sun Belt Conference game, a 4-3 victory over Arkansas State (3/9) and earned his first save in the process... Held a 2.19 ERA and 2-0 record in mid-March... Moved into the starting rotation March 29 at Louisiana-Monroe, striking out six in 4 2/3 innings- received a no-decision... Struck out a season-high seven on two occasions, first vs. Troy (4/12) in his third start in which he pitched into the seventh while allowing just one earned run... Used as the closer in late April before moving back into a starting role May 6 vs. Bethune-Cookman... Pitched a complete-game, matching a season-high with seven K's and allowing just two earned runs against BCU (5/6)... Was effective in helping FAU win a Sun Belt Conference Championship elimination game vs. Western Kentucky (5/24)... Credited with a 4-2 record and a 6.10 ERA.
