Raasch Joins FAU Volleyball Staff

June 15, 2006

Florida Atlantic University's volleyball program has added Todd Raasch to the coaching staff. Raasch will serve as an assistant coach under Jody Brown and will work with a team that is coming off a 29-3 record with a conference title and NCAA appearance.

Raasch brings a multitude of coaching experiences to the program. With former head coaching experience and experience with four top-25 programs and a National Championship team, he brings added dimensions to the volleyball coaching staff.

"Todd brings a wealth of recruiting experience to our program, both nationally and internationally," said FAU head coach Jody Brown. "While his main focus will be on recruiting, his court knowledge and teaching ability as a head coach will also be a plus."

Prior to spending two seasons as the head coach at Kenyon College in Gambier, OH, Raasch spent 15 seasons as an assistant coach at various universities. After completing his playing career at Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa, he stepped into the role as the assistant coach for the Yellowjackets. Raasch spent two seasons with the women's team before receiving his bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health from Graceland in 1992.

He then moved on to the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he spent six seasons. The Antelopes made two sweet 16 appearances in 1994 and 1996. Between those two seasons, Raasch worked the 1995 season with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. That year, the Huskers won the National Championship by defeating Texas 3-1.

Raasch's last assistant coaching job led him to Metropolitan State College of Denver. During his five year stay, the Roadrunners picked up three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.
